Check-In Policy:
All check-ins are by appointment only.  If you are going to be late for any reason, please call or text Tina at 906-281-0617 or Tom at 906-370-8468.  The kennel is open for check-ins between the hours of 9am-10am or 5pm-6pm.  An early drop off (between 8:30 & 9am) may be scheduled for a fee of $10. See below for our Holiday drop off policy. Please make sure your dog is on a leash when entering the kennel.

Holidays: We do not check dogs in on holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Thanksgiving. You are welcome to drop off the evening before with an appointment at either 5, 530 or 6pm.

Check-Out:
For new customers, pick-up times are by appointment only (at 9, 930 or 10am or 5, 530 or 6pm). Regular customers can pick their dog up anytime between 9am and 9pm. Please make sure your dog is on a leash when exiting the kennel.

Required Vaccinations:
Current Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccinations are required for all reservations.  Please forward a copy of your current vaccination records in advance of your boarding appointment.  You can e-mail (or ask your veterinarian office to e-mail) a copy to topdogkennels2001@yahoo.com or take a picture and text it to 906-281-0617.  If you show up at the kennel with your dog and do not have proof from your veternarian that your dog is up to date on his/her vaccinations, we will not be able to board him/her. We do not accept self administered vaccinations or handwritten vaccination cards unless signed by your veternarian.

Cancellation Policy:
We are a small kennel and have limited kennel space available. Therefore, we require at least 48 hours notice for cancellations (72 hours during holidays).  Cancellations without sufficient notice are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total board bill. If you are a no call/no show or if you cancel a holiday reservation without adequate notice, you will be billed 100% of the board bill.  By scheduling a boarding appointment with us, you understand and agree to abide by this policy.

Overnight Boarding Rates:
Daily boarding $30.00

Multiple dogs same kennel - $25.00 per dog.

Medication administration - add $3.00 per day for oral administration and $5 per SubQ or IM injection.  We do not administer IV medications. Ear cleanings are $10 using your vet approved medications.

Daycare Rates:

Standard daycare hours are offered between the hours of 9am-6pm for $25. Daycare extended outside of standard hours is $30.  Use the reservation request on this page and specify "daycare" in the comments box.  Please note that your daycare reservation is not finalized until you get a confirmation e-mail back from the kennel indicating that we do have space available. 

Payment Policy:
Payment is due at check-in.  A check from a local bank or cash only. Credit cards are not accepted.

What to Bring:
1. Please bring your dog's food, but not bowls (unless he/she uses a slow feeder). Please bring food in an appropriate size container for your dog's stay (for example, do not bring 25 lbs of food for a 3 night stay). Also, don't bring the exact amount that they need for their stay. Bringing an extra day or so of food ensures they stay on the same diet if your return travel gets delayed. There is a $3/day fee if we need to supply food for your dog. Feel free to use gallon size ziploc bags for your dog's food (or smaller if you prefer to portion the meals out yourself) or any hard container such as Tupperware or the dog food bag. Please do not bring food in flimsy plastic bags (like WalMart bags).

2. If your dog is a chewer, please bring chew toys for him/here (no rawhide, plush or plastic. Nyla bones, Kong toys and antlers are examples of good choices). Make sure your toys are the appropriate size for your dog to avoid choking hazards. 

3. Feel free to bring outside play toys (for example, a ball or frisbee that he/she loves).

4. Feel free to bring your dog's bed or a blanket.  Blankets are usually better choices.

5. Feel free to bring any special treats your dog loves!



The kennel is located in Atlantic Mine, MI.  Two minutes southwest of the Copper Country Mall.  Heading West (out of Houghton) on State Highway M-26, turn right onto Erickson Drive for 1/2mile.  Just past the curve and past the Post Office, turn right onto S Huron Street.
